Our Client was charged with three (3) charges for Forgery for fhe Purpose of Cheating under Section 468 of the Penal Code, Cap 224. We carefully analysed our Client’s case and facts, and advised our Client that a representation be made to Attorney-General Chambers (AGC) i.e. the Government Prosecutor for the charges to be amended. We successfully argued that the first charge be amended to Section 465, and the second and third charges to be amended under Section 471 of Penal Code. We also successfully argued for a lighter sentence for our Client. Under the original charge, the law requires our Client to get a compulsory imprisonment (i.e. jail sentence). Because the criminal charge was amended, our Client received a fine of $2,500. There was no jail sentence.
